The Story Might Save His Career. If It Doesn't Kill Him First.
Don’t call him a blogger. Shane Allen may have lost his byline at The San Francisco Journal, but at least he's writing real news. And an old source going on the record is bound to put his fledgling online publication on the map.
Inspector Gail York is San Francisco’s first Black female homicide detective. She’s got a backlog of unsolved cases, a rookie partner, and an old school bigot refusing to retire. The last thing she needs is a sensational double homicide.
But when affluent twin brothers are accused of killing their parents, Shane's source is silenced forever. And York gets the last thing she needs.
In a race of innocence versus guilt, by the time either uncovers the truth it may be too late for justice.
Steeped in the rich and colorful history of San Francisco, fans of Harlan Coben, John Lescroat, and Stieg Larsson will love Inherit Guilt.
Caroline Wright on Amazon wrote:This is an excellent and extremely well written book. It has an exceptional plot with several well-developed characters including an underemployed journalist, a seasoned black female police detective, a retired progressive mayor and the matron of a wealthy family struggling with the murder of her son and his wife and the apparent involvement of her grandsons. As a reader of many police procedurals and detective stories, this novel stood out for its fast paced action, credible story and unique characters. I highly recommend it. I was given an advance review copy in exchange for an honest review. The San Francisco location was an added treat.

I was very surprised that this is a debut novel.
The storyline was very involving and had my attention right from the start.
The characters were interesting and the major characters were well developed. I enjoyed seeing Wesley get more comfortable with new people. Jim seems like the neighbour that everyone would like to have.
There's a few twists in the book. Although I picked who the murderer was, there were other twists I didn't see coming.
I look forward to reading more from this author.I received a complimentary copy of the book from the author via Voracious Readers Only.
